Callahan & Rice Insurance Group, Inc. began its service to the Fayetteville community in 1966. Newton Robertson, Elizabeth Ellis and Thurston Callahan opened the agency to provide quality insurance coverages and a high level of professional service to business owners. Their combined experience and resources proved to be a good blend. A few years later, the agency began to offer insurance to individuals for their personal properties and vehicles.
After Mr. Robertson and Ms. Ellis retired, Thurston Callahan operated the business with a continued focus on quality and service. In 1997, Mark W. Rice assumed management responsibilities for the agency. Since that time, the agency has added a Financial Services Division to include employee benefits and moved to its current location in historic downtown Fayetteville. With eleven employees and several strategic alliances, the agency has experienced significant growth while continuing its commitment of quality and service to the Fayetteville/Cumberland County area.
The agency is proud of its 46 year history and to be serving three generations of clients. While representing multiple carriers, Callahan & Rice works to suit the needs of its diverse client base including local and regional businesses as well as personal risks.
The addition of a new producer in 2008 has allowed the agency to increase its volume maximizing the current staff and management system.
Strategic alliances allow the Financial Services Division to serve more clients and solidify relationships with current clients.
