Clarence Montgomery ID'd as Man Killed in Franklin Car Accident on Route 32 near Dobrucki Road

Franklin, Connecticut (January 24, 2020) - The man who was killed Wednesday night in a head-on crash in Franklin has been identified as Clarence Montgomery, 59, of Ledyard.

The crash happened at about 11 p.m., January 22, on Route 32 near Dobrucki Road.

Police said Montgomery was driving his vehicle on Route 32 when for an unknown reason, he allowed the vehicle to drift into the opposite lane and collided head-on with another vehicle.

Montgomery was transported to Backus Hospital in Norwich, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The other driver was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
