Areas of Specialty

(ADOS®-2) Autism & ADHD Diagnostic Observation & Testing
At Cygnus, our dedication lies in offering thorough assessments to aid individuals and families on their path to mental well-being. A key part of what we do is the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) testing. This specialized evaluation is instrumental in helping gain a deep understanding and make accurate diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a thoughtful and detailed manner through one of our licensed, Board Certified Psychologists.
We also can provide diagnosis and testing for ADHD.
If you or a loved one are needing the ADOS-2 or/& testng for ADHD to be completed, please contact your medical provider to obtain a referral for services in the ADOS-2 &/or ADHD.
For any inquiries into the ADOS-2 & testing for ADHD, it is required that all inquiries have a referral from a Medical Doctor or a Pediatrician.
In Home & Telehealth Direct Services
Cygnus Consulting's team of BCBAs, Psychologists, SLPs and RBTs collaborate to provide direct care therapy services to children facing developmental and behavioral challenges with a progressive ABA therapy approach. Our aim is to encourage positive, adaptive behavior and independence by reinforcing positive behaviors and teaching functional life skills that can assist in promoting independence. We personalize our therapy sessions to the specific needs of each child and prioritize the growth and development of the children in our care.
Sometimes there are obstacles to coming into a center or a clinical treatment setting, but help is still available. Our Clinicians and Behavioral Technicians or Registered Behavioral Technicians can meet you over a HIPAA compliant connection provided remotely using telecommunications technology, such as video conferencing, allowing families and individuals to access healthcare from anywhere.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a type of therapy that helps people accept their thoughts and feelings, even when they're difficult, rather than trying to fight or avoid them. The goal of ACT is to help individuals live a more meaningful life by focusing on their values and committing to actions that align with those values. It encourages psychological flexibility, meaning people learn to adapt and cope with life's challenges in a healthy way, while still making progress toward their goals.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured type of therapy that focuses on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. CBT helps people recognize and change negative or unhelpful thinking patterns that may be causing emotional distress or leading to harmful behaviors. The idea is that by changing the way we think, we can improve how we feel and act in different situations. CBT is often used to treat issues like anxiety, depression, and stress by teaching practical strategies to better manage emotions and behaviors.
Cygnus Consulting can provide mental health therapy through our Board Certified Psychologists and BCBAs for parents/couples, children, teenagers and young adults. Our BCBAs can provide ACT and our Psychologists can provide CBT & ACT.
Parent-Led ABA
In situations where parents are waiting for the availability of a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, opting for parent-led ABA emerges as a highly advantageous alternative. Empowering parents to actively engage in the therapeutic process, this approach fosters a collaborative environment to support their child's development promptly and within the familiarity of their natural surroundings. At Cygnus, we understand the critical importance of early intervention, and recognizing that the demand for RBTs may result in waiting periods, we offer parent-led ABA. This equips parents with the tools and skills needed to initiate positive changes in their child's behavior and development.
Our expert team provides comprehensive training and ongoing support, enabling seamless integration of ABA principles into daily routines. By embracing parent-led ABA, families actively contribute to their child's progress, creating a nurturing environment that promotes skill acquisition and behavior reduction even before a dedicated RBT is available.
Dyscalculia, Dyslexia & Dysgraphia Treatment

If your child is struggling with Dyscalculia, Dyslexia, or Dysgraphia, Cygnus offers tailored and effective support. We use evidence-based techniques, such as Direct Instruction and Precision Learning, to help children improve their academic and social skills.
Direct Instruction involves breaking down complex skills into smaller, more manageable steps and providing direct and explicit instruction to help children learn. Precision Learning uses data-driven techniques to identify each child's unique strengths and weaknesses, allowing us to tailor our therapy to their individual needs. Our experienced BCBAs & RBTs work closely with parents to ensure that progress is being made both in therapy and at home.
Contact us today to learn more about how our ABA can provide the tailored and effective support your child needs to achieve success in school and beyond. Our teams are dedicated to helping each child with Dyscalculia, Dyslexia, or Dysgraphia reach their full potential.
Sleep Disorders
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a type of therapy that can be very helpful for people with sleep disorders. ABA therapists use scientific methods to understand how a person's behavior affects their sleep, and then create a treatment plan to help improve their sleep habits. This might include things like creating a relaxing bedtime routine, teaching relaxation techniques, and adjusting the person's sleep schedule. By using ABA, people with sleep disorders can learn new behaviors and habits that will help them get the restful sleep they need to feel their best.
All sleep consults require a referral and clearance from a Pediatrician (for children & teens) or a Family Practice MD (for adults & teens) first before Cygnus can assist
Feeding Disorders

Behavior Analysts use a personalized approach to help people who have difficulty eating. They start by observing eating behaviors during mealtime, such as the types and amounts of food consumed and eating pace, and then develop a step-by-step plan to modify these behaviors. The plan may include rewarding positive eating habits, gradually introducing new foods, or making changes to the feeding environment. The goal is to help the individual develop healthy and positive feeding habits that can be sustained over the long term. By using this approach, Cygnus Consulting can help individuals overcome feeding difficulties and improve their overall quality of life.
All sleep consults require a referral and clearance from a Pediatrician (for children & teens)
Education Advocacy & General Consultations for Parents
As a parent, there are times when you don't necessarily need ongoing in-home sessions for your family and child, but you are aware that you would benefit from some clinical recommendations and guidance that will help you. Cygnus Consulting can provide Parent Consulting for parents &/or guardians that need that level of clinical support in and out of your home.
We are also willing to help become an educational advocate for your child in their school. We can attend your child's IEP or 504 meetings and talk to the school as needed in order to help provide the best possible outcome for your child during their school year.
