The firm engages in the general practice of law. Our clientele includes individuals, labor organizations, corporations, trade and membership associations, and governmental and community entities on local, state and national levels. We represent clients in a wide range of labor matters including wrongful discharge, breach of employment contract, discrimination on the basis of age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability or handicap, and veterans' status. The firm possesses extensive litigation experience in defense of corporations, labor organizations, and other entities, encompassing civil rights, the duty of fair representation, education and housing, libel and slander, defamation and false arrest, all of which may arise in the employment context.

The firm's labor and employment practice brings it before the National labor Relations Board, the Merit Systems Protection Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor-Wage and Hour Division, the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, state agencies charged with enforcement of state statutes in the field, and federal and state tribunals. When I first started practicing law in the mid 1960's, the general public did not have access to the internet; advertising of legal services; display advertising of legal services in the yellow pages or other means to obtain information about or to evaluate attorneys. I can remember as a young lawyer being "interviewed" by individuals who were seeking an attorney to handle their legal affairs. The Supreme Court of the United States has in recent years authorized advertising for lawyers. The internet and the ability to "google" has further allowed the general public to evaluate and identify those with specialized areas of legal knowledge.

Suffice to say, it is just as important today for clients to search out, and yes, even "interview" attorneys when they have legal matters. My practice, since being licensed in 1964, has primarily been in labor and employment law. The field of labor law is a very expansive one and covers all manner of issues ranging from unemployment compensation, to social security, to wage and hour, discrimination law, union representation, administrative law, education law, as well as elements of the general practice of law.

If you would like to discuss your legal needs with this office, please call and we will be delighted to sit down and talk about those needs. I still believe after all these years that clients have the right to "interview lawyers" before placing their affairs in the hands of an attorney. I will tell you, up front, whether we can or cannot be of assistance, whether your issues are within our expertise and experience, and the costs you may expect to encounter.
