I consider myself an Ohioan. I grew up in Toledo, Ohio, attended Miami University for microbiology in Oxford, Ohio then was honored to have an early acceptance to The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. After my graduation from the dental program in 1998, I completed a Dental General Practice Residency at The Medical College of Ohio back in my hometown of Toledo. My experience at the residency program allowed me to treat many different patient populations and learn in a medical environment. I was privileged to work and treat children and adult patients in a hospital setting with head and neck cancers, people with a history of trauma, and those undergoing organ transplants. The unique program also allowed me to treat our honorable veterans at the VA clinic, and those with special needs at the MRDD Center of Toledo. My eagerness to learn and serve as a dental resident at The Medical College of Ohio allowed me to co-receive The Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery Outstanding Resident Award. That year I was also the recipient of the Toledo Dental Society Spring Clinician Award.
