I'm Dr. Whitley Paden, a licensed clinical psychologist, and I have received extensive training with helping individuals, ages 15 years and older, suffering from a range of intrapersonal and interpersonal challenges. I recognize the importance of providing genuine warmth and caring to all clients to promote their own self-compassion, acceptance, and growth. I specialize in providing research-based treatment to adolescents and adults with a range of struggles. Some of which include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety (generalized, phobias, panic attacks), eating disorders, and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change" - Carl Rogers.

I am a certified provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) which is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD. I use other evidence-based treatments, including, but not limited to Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), CBT for eating disorders (CBT-E), Family-Based Therapy (FBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT), and Cognitive Behavioral Coping Skills Therapy (CBST) (https://cptforptsd.com/cpt-provider-roster/).

For those who desire it, I can provide Christian counseling utilizing Biblical principles in the evidence-based treatment process. This type of therapy can help you improve your spiritual life and relationship with God.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

I obtained my master's degree and doctorate at Spalding University's School of Professional Psychology in 2019. I completed my APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the Robley Rex VA in Louisville, KY where I received training and supervision treating PTSD. My postdoctoral training and early work experience at Be Well KY (Louisville Clinic for Eating Disorders; Louisville OCD Clinic) focused on treating eating disorders and OCD.
