Layne has practiced law for over 30 years, including 27 years in Las Vegas. The Firm focuses its practices in three areas: (1) estate planning; business planning; and estate and trust administration

ESTATE PLANNING: Estate planning involves the preparation of legal documents that direct the proper handling of one's assets ("estate") after one's death, but also ideally during one's lifetime. This includes the preparation of revocable and irrevocable trusts of all types, including probate-avoidance trusts, asset-protection trusts, charitable trusts, and generation-skipping "dynasty" trusts.

BUSINESS PLANNING: The Firm assists with the formation of new business entities, including limited-liability companies, corporations, and limited partnerships. To a limited degree, we are involved with the review and preparation of contracts.

TRUST AND ESTATE ADMINISTRATION: The Firm advises executors and trustees with respect to the administration and distribution of assets in their control and the income produced by those assets. The Firm prepares gift and estate tax returns, and handles all types of matters in the probate court, including contested and uncontested probate and trust matters.

Mr. Rushforth is a member of the State Bar of Nevada (since 1981) and the Utah State Bar (since 1978), and is a Fellow with the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). He has an "av" rating with Martindale-Hubbell (www.martindale.com).
