We hope you've got your calendars out: The first day of summer in North America is Wednesday, June 21. It also happens to be the longest day of the year! In the Northern Hemisphere, the June solstice (aka summer solstice) occurs when the Sun travels along its northernmost path in the sky.
Born and raised in Santa Barbara, I am one of 11 children. My father, Jim Cashman, was a State Farm Insurance Agent in Santa Barbara for 37 years. My wife Leigh and I have been married for over 40 years and have two wonderful daughters, both are married and we have four beautiful grandchildren.
I began my agency career with State Farm Insurance over 40 years ago working with my father, while attending Bishop Garcia Diego High School. After high school, I financed my way through college at San Diego State University, working for a State Farm Insurance Agent. I received my BS in Business and Insurance. Upon graduation, I became a State Farm Insurance Agent in Santa Barbara. I am celebrating my 40th anniversary as a State Farm Agent this year.
