Stainless Steel production to fallWorld stainless steel production is likely to register its third consecutive year on year fall in 2009,According to analysts at Metal Bulletinn's Asian Ferroalloys conference in Hong Kong.
Mr Bonnie Liu commodity research analyst at Macquarie Bank said that total world stainless steel output is set to fall 11% in 2009 as compared with a 7% drop in 2008. She added that a modest increase in Chinese production up by 4% YoY to 7.2 million tonnes from 6.92 million tonnes in 2008 partly offset steep declines elsewhere. |
